Help us keep girls in school

Improved water, sanitation and hygiene in schools improves child health, boosts student attendance and participation, and improves gender equality. A little help can go a long way, for example:

  • $25 can help provide sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene kits for girls in schools
  • $50 can help provide art supplies to a school student WASH Club for a project that promotes washing hands with soap
  • $120 can help provide a new toilet for a school
  • $500 can help provide a new toilet and shower room for girls to use at school when they have their periods

Our work in schools in the South Pacific focused on improving menstrual hygiene management for girls is keeping girls in schools:

"They would feel bad about coming to school when they have their menstruation, so it affects their learning. It's changing now...Because of the facilities, girls are attending school.  They never miss out on any of their lessons, because during their periods they stay in class, they have a place to go and fix themselves up."
