The Climate Resilient Islands programme is working with 65 rural communities in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu to strengthen community resilience to climate change through nature-based approaches.
To achieve this, Live & Learn developed a process integrating a complex range of existing approaches and concepts, building a system communities can use to better understand their own context and help communities plan actions to build their resilience.
This system is detailed in the CRI Toolkit. This combines the diversity of processes communities are using to explore interdependence of people and ecosystems, understand ecosystems complexity, develop nature-based plans for adaptation and improve their climate resilience.
