In what ways can communities be prepared for volcanic eruptions?
This manual is designed for community education facilitators who are working to mitigate the risks of volcanic eruptions through awareness building. It includes basic information about volcanoes and the sorts of impacts they can have, how to prepare for eruptions and what to do during and after them. It also includes information on how to protect water supplies and how to mobilise communities for disaster preparedness.
While this manual is mainly informative, it also features a disaster management plan template, which facilitators can use with communities after workshops. Available in English and Bislama.
