What is weather? How is it changing? And how does it affect us?
This manual introduces students to weather and the ways in which their world is changing. It is divided into three sections. These include information about how weather systems work, how to know if water is safe to drink, and how to monitor water quality.
This resource is part of the Schools for a Healthy Environment programme, which also includes the following modules: ‘Ourselves’, ‘Life Around Us’, ‘Resources from the Environment’, ‘Interdependence’, and ‘Science and Technology’.
These modules are designed to supplement teachers of Environmental Studies in schools or educators who are facilitating environmental clubs. Each manual includes instructions for classroom activities, sheets for teachers to help with lesson planning, as well as resource sheets for students to use in the classroom. They feature clear links to relevant areas of the curriculum, and use an inquiry model for learning, where students have greater responsibility for their own learning and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
