Building Peace: Child’s rights cards

How can we show children their rights and responsibilities?

This set of 17 picture cards provides educators with a quick and easy way to show children their rights and responsibilities when it comes to promoting peacebuilding. The cards are designed to be used with Building Peace: An Educator’s Guide for the Pacific, which encourages children to find creative solutions to conflict and promote peace, by developing their knowledge and confidence.

Based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the bright, simple images on the child rights cards provide a strong visual aid for children’s memory of their rights and responsibilities. Each card conveys a right, such as the right to live a full life, survive and grow up healthy, and a corresponding responsibility, such as making sure people in need also enjoy this right.
