Cambodia Environmental Education Status Report

How can countries improve environmental education?

Environmental education is central to developing sustainable pathways for developing nations. This report addresses the importance and complexities of developing environmental education frameworks in Cambodia. It draws on case studies and provides key recommendations.

The report supported the Ministry of Environment in implementing the National Environmental Education and Awareness Campaign; this aimed to build a coordination framework and information dissemination mechanisms as part of the Tonle Sap Environmental Management Project. The campaign used formats like radio, television and formal curriculum to promote environmental education, especially in regard to the economic, environmental and social dimensions of the Tonle Sap ecosystem. It considered both national and local stakeholders.
