How can we develop children’s skills for creating peaceful communities?
Young people are the future of the Pacific and this guide encourages children to join leadership networks and create spaces for peace to grow through implementing fun community projects. These projects provide opportunities for increased responsibilities, and for children to speak out to their peers, school, community, media and world about issues concerning them. In doing so, children learn valuable life lessons about their roles as community citizens, and develop organisational, leadership, collaborative and decision-making skills.
Your Guide to Create Change is a tool for peer education under supervision, and the activities within can be adapted to particular circumstances. It is part of the Be the Future! Toolkit.
