Field Guide to Maldivian Mangroves

What are mangroves and why are they important?

This guide introduces children to what mangroves are, how their ecosystems operate, where they are found and the different parts of mangrove plants. More broadly, it introduces the benefits that mangroves provide, the threats that they face and the ways that people can take care of them.

This field guide also includes a series of page-length profiles on different mangrove plant species and the animals that live within them. Profiles feature colour images, descriptions and distribution information. This field guide is designed to complement both the Field Guide to Maldivian Plants and the Field Guide to Maldivian Birds and Beach Ecosystems.
