A report on the impact of large scale commercial logging on human rights in remote areas of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

The research from this project helps NGOs and policy makers understand how widespread logging in the areas under study have created both short and long term negative effects, and provides a basis for education and the creation of policies to mobilize communities.

Logging in these areas has involved environmental degradation, human rights abuses, including sexual exploitation, unsafe work practices and the fracturing of communities. The report gives an understanding of where work is required in asserting the human rights of villagers, particularly women and children, and placing logging in the wider context of other changes adversely affecting communities.
