How can we stop violence in our communities?
This manual is for men who want to become advocates for combating sexual violence and abuse against women. These advocates will use this guide to facilitate informal and participatory sessions with men in their community as a part of the project ‘Men Against Violence Against Women’ (MAVAW) in the Solomon Islands.
Red Cardim Vaelens encourages men to think and talk about violence against women and family violence and the impact on children, women, our families and communities. It includes activities that talk about what it means to be a man, how men and women are taught to behave differently, and how custom and religion influence our views on family violence. It helps to develop personal skills and build safer and stronger communities where all people are safe, healthy and happy.
