Pilot Project for Community Engagement in Water Conservation at Ali Curung

How can we make water conservation both sustainable and participatory?

This report relates to the designing and implementation of a water conservation programme that aimed to  empower Indigenous communities living in Ali Curung, Australia. It was designed according to Live and Learn’s Sustainable Development Model, which emphasises participation and ownership as opposed to traditional models of service delivery. 

This report outlines the key findings of the Rapid Assessment of Perceptions, which focused on perceptions of capacity and barriers pertaining to water conservation. This report also includes an overview of the recommendations that resulted from the RAP, and an outline of the Water Conservation Programme that was designed according to these recommendations.
